Watershed Watch’s longest-serving Board Chair, Wayne Halabourda, stepped down in May after nearly 20 years as director and board chair. During his stint, Wayne provided a kind of stability and support rarely seen. Wayne joined the organization as a staunch conservationist and keen angler and displayed passion and dedication every step of his journey. As a volunteer, he helped lead the way as Watershed Watch expanded dramatically to intensify its efforts to protect wild salmon from multiple threats.

Though he will be missed by other board members and staff, Wayne has earned a well-deserved rest and more time to pursue his passion as a master woodworker. Watershed Watch wishes him all success in this next stage of his life, and we are pleased to welcome his extremely capable replacement as Board Chair, Rosie Simms.
