Located in Kwikwetlem First Nation territory, Maple Creek is an urban waterway that runs between the communities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam. The waterway will be undergoing some big changes in the coming years that will see the old, fish-unfriendly pump station upgraded to a design that will benefit wild salmon and reduce local flood risk. Thank you to the staff and the mayor of Port Coquitlam and representatives from Kwikwetlem First Nation for participating in this short film.

I was very surprised that the Maple Creek Streamkeepers were not interviewed in this video. They are the backbone for that creek.
Over 30 years they have worked hard to remove the obstacles away for the salmon to thrive. They have also continously communicated with DFO
and the politicians to install the pump or anything else that needs attention.
Hi Sandy, totally agree. On many occasions we requested interviews with the the Maple Creek Streamkeepers but they were unavailable, they did provide us some footage that we incorporated into telling this story. Thank you for your comment.
