It was wonderful to see many salmon runs come back strong in 2022 after years of record-low returns. It shows that our salmon are resilient: if we give them safe passage to healthy habitat, they can still thrive. But it wasn’t good everywhere. This year’s autumn drought killed fish in many rivers, as did last fall’s catastrophic flooding. Despite the ongoing challenges, the Watershed Watch team had some big wins this year, as well as steady progress on many of our campaigns.
