We’d like to give special thanks to Julia Larsen for her incredible support this month. Julia joined us at BCIT Fair Week at the beginning of September, cheerfully fielding student’s questions and encouraging them to sign our Safe Passage and Connected Waters petitions.

Her enthusiasm and passion for protecting wild salmon habitat resulted in over 60 students signing up to learn more about our upcoming volunteer opportunities. Julia is in her second year of the BCIT Fisheries and Wildlife program, where she excels at field work and taking what she learns in the classroom and applying it to her volunteer experiences.

Julia also joined us for a well-attended and high-energy climate change rally in Vancouver. An avid photographer, she snapped candid shots of the festivities and helped us set a new record for number of petition signatures from a single event. Despite her busy school schedule, she still found time to volunteer at the 24th Annual Ridge Meadows Rivers Day, greeting event participants and helping with the raffle prize draw.
