Arzeena made so many really important points. She is so knowledgeable and understands the need for local control over watersheds. The provincial government needs to fund regional districts to collect data and manage their watersheds. Logging practices absolutely have to change. Her point about farmers storing water in dugouts rather than drawing from streams is crucial in arid areas, to preserve streams for fish and wildlife, as well as for the farmers’ own secure water supply.
I enjoyed this podcast especially because not only was Arzeena knowledgeable, she was very easy to understand. She did not speak too fast and articulated clearly. The interviewer’s questions would have been easier to understand if she spoke a bit slower.
