Daniel King - Volunteer - PC Volunteers of SFULong-time Watershed Watch volunteer Daniel King recently spoke with SFU about why he strongly believes in our work to protect British Columbia’s wild salmon.

“When I stumbled upon a social media post that featured a Watershed volunteer who was advocating for one of their initiatives on Parliament Hill, I knew I wanted to be a part of their efforts”, he explains.

An avid-fisherman, King knows the importance of science-based fisheries policy firsthand. Over the past couple of years he has taken his interest in wild salmon conservation, channelling it into community engagement, restoration of salmon habitat, event planning, and participation at key policy meetings on behalf of Watershed Watch.

Through these experiences, he has gained valuable first-hand experience in effective communication on complex and at times controversial issues. We can’t thank Daniel enough for his continued support and are already looking forward to public engagement in 2018!

Daniel is currently pursuing a Masters of Environmental Toxicology at SFU. You can view Daniel’s full SFU story here.
