Speed up the Fish Farm Ban
The federal government committed to banning factory salmon farms in B.C. waters, but the ban doesn’t take effect until 2029. That gives foreign-owned factory fish farm companies years to lobby politicians and weaken or reverse this huge British Columbia win.
We’ve all worked hard to get this far, with nearly 40% of factory fish farm sites already removed from B.C. waters. But foreign-owned fish farm companies are still using our coastal waters like their own personal sewer, spreading parasites and disease to wild salmon.
Protecting wild salmon means defending B.C.’s coast, supporting food security, and building a stronger Canadian economy rooted in healthy wild salmon and thriving coastal communities.
Can you message the federal government to speed up the ban, finish the job and enshrine it into law?
