Fresh water is the lifeblood of British Columbia. It’s vital for our families, our communities, and future generations. Wild salmon depend on clean, abundant fresh water and so do we: The food we eat, the water we drink, and the lands we live on are all directly linked to the health of our watersheds.

British Columbia’s rivers and streams are under immense pressure from industrial water use, climate change, and poor management. This poses a significant threat to both wild salmon and the communities, ecosystems, cultures, jobs and industries that rely on them. To defend and secure B.C.’s fresh water sources, we need our elected officials to be water champions.

Ask your candidates to sign the pledge

Visit the Watershed Security Pledge page to see if your local candidates have signed the pledge. If they have, send them a thank you note to let them know you support their commitment to the health and well-being of British Columbians and the economic stability of local communities. If they haven’t, now is the time to take action. Reach out to your candidates and ask them to sign the pledge.
